Maypole Florist opened in Cefn Mawr

A new florist has appeared in Cefn Mawr who the owner hopes will energize the village and help encourage more shops in the area.

The Maypole Florist, on Crane Street in Cefn Mawr, was opened on June 9 by shop owner Hayley Edwards, who is local to the area.

The shop is part of a long history in the region. Maypole was built in 1873 and it was also restored in 2010 with lottery money as part of the heritage site.

Hayley has been a florist for nine years, having trained in Walford and North Shropshire.

She said: “I hope bringing the shop to Cefn Mawr will push the village even further.

“There are stores that have been around for many years and are doing well and I hope more will start popping up soon, bringing more customers to the area.

She added: ‘It’s beautiful to see part of the heritage site open again offering something that we don’t have locally.

Hayley offers flowers for all occasions, including weddings, funerals and more. It offers a delivery service to most local areas, but parking is also available in the area for those who show up.
